Build Furniture Around Your Room
One of the biggest advantages of special-order upholstery is the ability to choose furniture around your room instead of forcing your room to fit a stock sofa or sectional.
Depending on the collection, available options may include:
Different Sofa Lengths
Apartment-Size Sofas
Deep-Seating Sofas
Loveseats
Chairs
Ottomans
Chaise Pieces
One-Arm Sofas
Armless Chairs

Custom Sectional Configurations
Many sectional collections can be built using individual pieces, giving you more flexibility when planning your seating layout.

Other Designer Upholstery
Fabric availability varies by manufacturer and frame.
Performance Fabrics
Performance upholstery can be a strong option for active households, homes with pets, children, frequent guests, or furniture that receives heavy everyday use.
Depending on the fabric, performance features may include improved stain resistance, easier cleaning, moisture resistance, or increased durability.
Top-Grain Leather Options
Select sofas and sectionals can be ordered in top-grain leather.
Depending on the manufacturer, customers may be able to choose from multiple leather colors, textures, and finishes.
Some frames are not available in leather, so our team can help you determine which styles offer leather options.
Fabric or Leather?
Choosing between fabric and leather often comes down to feel, maintenance, style, room use, and personal preference.
Fabric offers an enormous range of colors, patterns, and textures, while top-grain leather develops natural character over time and offers a distinctive appearance and feel.
Seeing both materials in person can make the decision much easier.
Different Sofa Depths
Seat depth can dramatically affect how a sofa feels.
Some customers prefer a shallower, more upright seating position, while others prefer deep seating designed for lounging.
Many of our upholstery brands offer collections with different overall depths and seat proportions.
Different Arm Styles
Arm style can significantly change the appearance of a sofa or sectional.
Depending on the collection, options may include:
Track Arms
Roll Arms
Panel Arms
Sloped Arms
Modern Narrow Arms
Wide Arms
Traditional Arms
Contemporary Arm Styles
Available arm options vary by manufacturer and collection.
Choose Your Cushion Comfort
Select manufacturers offer more than one cushion or seating comfort option.
This can allow customers to choose between softer, firmer, deeper, or more supportive seating depending on the collection.
Cushion options vary by frame and manufacturer.
Stationary Sofas & Sectionals
Stationary furniture is a strong choice for customers who want a traditional sofa or sectional without reclining mechanisms.
Stationary collections often provide extensive options in fabrics, sizes, sectional pieces, chairs, ottomans, and coordinating furniture.

Chaise Sofas
Chaise sofas can provide additional lounging space without requiring a full sectional.
They can work especially well in apartments, smaller family rooms, or spaces where you want to stretch out but do not need a large multi-piece configuration.
Apartment-Size Sofas
Not every room needs an oversized sofa.
Select collections offer apartment-size sofas, compact loveseats, smaller chairs, and sectional configurations designed for tighter spaces.
These options can work well in apartments, condos, offices, guest rooms, smaller homes, and rooms with limited wall space.
Deep-Seating Sofas
For customers who prefer lounging and a more relaxed seating position, deep-seating sofas and sectionals can provide additional room to sit back and stretch out.
Seat depth varies by collection, which makes trying the furniture in person especially useful.
Custom Sofas for Large Rooms
Larger family rooms and great rooms may require more substantial furniture to properly fill the space.
Longer sofas, oversized chairs, large sectionals, modular configurations, and deep seating can help create the right scale for a larger room.
Custom Seating for Small Rooms
Smaller rooms require careful planning to avoid overwhelming the space.
Choosing the correct sofa length, seat depth, arm width, and sectional configuration can make a major difference in how the room functions.
Measure Before You Order
Room measurements are especially important when ordering sofas and sectionals.
Important dimensions may include:
Wall Length
Room Width
Doorway Width
Hallway Width
Stairway Clearance
Ceiling Height
Existing Furniture Placement
Reclining Clearance
Walking Space Around Furniture
Bring your room measurements to our showroom and our team can help you compare furniture sizes and configurations.
Plan Your Sectional Layout
Before ordering a sectional, it is important to decide which side the chaise or return should be on and how the sectional will interact with doorways, windows, fireplaces, televisions, and traffic flow.
A sectional that looks perfect in a showroom can feel very different once placed in a specific room.
